The heart of the operation

What makes our apprenticeships so exciting?

Teams

Great teams

At Kuehne+Nagel you will find a great team with colleagues who support you in all steps of your apprenticeship. Apprenticeships can be challenging, so having a team behind you and other apprentices alongside you makes all the difference.

Family Feeling

Family feeling

When you start a new job, you need to feel at home. As cliche as it sounds, we're a family - we can count on each other for support and honest feedback. We know that our people excel when they feel comfortable and able to speak up.
Responsibility

Responsibility

This isn't work experience - your apprenticeship is much more than just observing. You'll have your own area of responsibility and your own tasks. We'll teach you everything you need to know, as well as giving you space for your own ideas.
Delivering-Quality

Global reach

We're an international company, and you'll notice this every day in your work. Your colleagues come from all over the world and you'll often get the opportunity to work with people abroad. If you're keen to work abroad, this is a great stepping stone.

Meet Jack - sea logistics apprentice

What apprenticeship are you doing?

I am currently studying for my International Freight Forwarding Level 3 apprenticeship

What has been the best part of your apprenticeship so far?

The best part of my apprenticeship so far is two things, firstly the support I get from the apprenticeship programme as they are always there to help you with any sort of problems you have, and secondly my team. They were very welcoming to me and have made this experience a lot easier - when I first started the apprenticeship I was very nervous and a little scared as I have never done anything to do with freight forwarding.

What's the hardest thing about doing an apprenticeship?

Trying to balance the day job and the apprenticeship work. The tasks you do are very important things so you can’t mess it up as it would affect other people, not just yourself. Starting off this has been hard to do but is getting better the more I go on as I have started to plan myself a schedule where I can manage them both just by using half a day every week for apprenticeship work.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start an apprenticeship at
Kuehne+Nagel?

Make a schedule for when you will do your apprenticeship work and normal work so that when they both start to increase you will not be hit by a sudden storm of work and not know what to do leading to you being behind on work.
